My style of bodywork is different from most Swedish massage techniques. I specialize in a Japanese style of bodywork called Shiatsu. Deeply influenced by Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shiatsu aims to increase blood flow and to create expansion in the contracted areas of the body. Guided by Chinese Medicine’s understanding of the meridian network in the human body, I use perpendicular, stationary finger pressure, assisted movements and stretches to help my clients in their processes of healing. Shiatsu is done fully clothed and on a futon on the floor.
